You Me & the BusYou Me & the Bus Competition, Athens Georgia
As a tribute to the music of Athens, the proposed bus shelter represents two sound waves. The two continuous forms symbolizing the right and left channel. These forms or waves adapt to the site constraints and respond to the functional requirements to provide shelter from the elements while creating an inspirational waiting area. The exterior wave is made from an anodize aluminum panel system, that protects from rain and wind. While the interior wave is made from a powder coated anodized aluminum with laser cut lyrics, which serves as an inspiration to bus riders as they can read the lyrics from their favorite songs of Athens. The green color of the interior wave will help the riders feel tranquil and comfortable. The shelters are made with a 3”x3” metal tube freestanding frame structure and skinned in panels as mentioned above. The design accommodates the existing bolt pattern and will require additional connections which have been maintained 6” away from the exiting pattern.
